Brazzers, not to be confused with the eponymous adult entertainment production company, is a photoshop meme that involves superimposing the logo of the porn site over a group photo depicting two or more subjects to make it seem as if the image had been screen-captured from an adult film.
Origin[]
The earliest known instance of Brazzers-superimposed image was posted to FunnyJunk on July 4th, 2011, featuring a photograph of the cast from the Nickelodeon sitcom iCarly. The post was well-received by other users on the site, accumulating more than 50,000 views, 2,400 up votes and 510 comments.
Spread[]
In the following weeks of July 2011, the simple yet effective method of corrupting an otherwise innocent photograph continued to gain momentum on FunnyJunk and elsewhere; the first Brazzers instance on Reddit featuring Zombie McCain was submitted to /r/picson July 10th, followed by the first 4chan thread dedicated to the topic on July 20th and the first Body Building forums thread on July 26th.
The original instance based on the iCarly photograph was eventually picked up by the internet humor blog Memebase on September 6th, which further boosted the notoriety of the meme. On December 4th, an image compilation of Brazzers parodies featuring My Little Pony characters was submitted to the /r/ClopClop subreddit.
In February 2012, a Facebook fan pagetitled "Brazzers Meme" was launched and the meme began to spread across Tumblr under the tag #brazzers, as well as other internet humor sites including MemeCenter, Quickmeme, WeKnowMemes, Neeerd and NeoGAF forums. As of October 2012, searching for "brazzers" yields more than 850 image results on MemeCenter and more than 500 image results on the Facebook fan page.
