Brown Chewing Gum, also known as Purple and Brown Chewing Gum and as Chewing Character, is a GIF of a brown creature chewing pink bubblegum. It was originally a scene from the Purple and Brown episode "Bubble Gum", in which the two titular characters chew bubblegum. The GIF is usually a version of the scene that is zoomed in on Brown chewing gum. While GIFs featuring both characters exist, they are rarely used in comparison to the aforementioned version.
Brown Chewing Gum is mostly used without a caption, due to the already humorous absurdity of the image. The "chewing character prank" is used by lets-play channel OneyPlays, in which host Zach Hadel frequently pranks host Joshua Tomar by holding up his phone to the latter with the GIF on display. There is also a horror edit where the clip starts off normal before abruptly switching to a creepy face.
