Encyclopedia Dramatica, often abbreviated ED or æ, is a website consisting of a satirical MediaWiki based wiki and a XenForo based discussion forum. It was created by the website's owner Sherrod DeGrippo on December 10, 2004. The wiki is a parody of Wikipedia, containing much more offensive/vulgar content, and harassment campaigns; however, much of the offensive content is done solely for "the lulz."

Encyclopedia Dramatica is known for having at least 1 graphic image on one of their pages. The reason why æ is used as its mascot is that, according to the site, it's "confusing and mysterious like ED itself". Encyclopedia Dramatica has moved domains many times during its life. It was established in December 2004 at the .com domain and was originally meant to document dramatic happenings on LiveJournal, but instead quickly became associated with 4chan and Anonymous. In 2011, the site moved to a safe-for-work website called OhInternet, which also closed the same year. After that, the site moved domain extensions plenty of times from .rs to .se to .ch, and many others, usually because of the owners being arrested or banned. For a while, there were two sites for Encyclopedia Dramatica, which were created by Jacob Stellmach (dubbed Ædiot), and were the main domains for a while. However, after Jacob attempted to sell the site off to dark net users, the rest of the ED staff forked the wiki and moved the domain to where it currently is at dramatica.online. The .wiki domain, however, was still the more popular domain as Google put that site first and Wikipedia does not list .online. Later on, however, .wiki shut down which signified even more that .online was the true æ.

This is a poem written by a friend of a Myspace user named Mitchell Henderson, who killed himself on 4/20/06 for unknown reasons but an unknown troll fabricated the story that he lost his iPod and as a result committed suicide, or as referred to "became an hero". The story went viral on /b/ and /r9k/ due to the aspect of black comedy and because of the distinctive spelling error. This is tabbed on people who committed suicide in a foolish way, for a foolish reason, or both. In /r9k/ greentexts, suicide is almost always referred to becoming an hero. The meme has mostly been localized in 4chan & Encyclopedia Dramatica (especially the latter) for its duration of over 10 years.

• Goatse - A image of a man stretching his anus with both hands, revealing his rectum. The original domain has shutdown. The image's filename is "hello.jpg".
• Tubgirl - A image of a woman lying in a bathtub with yellow liquid shooting out of her anus and into her face. There has been many mirrors of this image, as it was first posted on Rotten.com.
• Hai2u - An image of a woman vomiting while performing fellatio on a man sitting in a lawn chair outside. The site used to have a subpage called spin that instead displayed the same animation Meatspin while Meagashira - Through Inner Core played in the background.
• Meatspin - A GIF of two people having sex with the other person's penis spinning around.
• Lemon Party - A image of two elderly men on a bed kissing each other, with another sucking on the penis of the one lying on the bed.

• The Pain Series - The Pain Series is a set of seven shock images created by user Huge_Midget on the Something Awful Forums in 2003. The Pain Series contains seven collages of images involving dead people, genital diseases, mutilation, gore, pornography, images from other shock sites like Goatse and Tubgirl, and more gruesome content.
• Offended - Offended is a shock webpage located on the website Encyclopedia Dramatica. The page was created on the original .com domain on August 17, 2007, by an ED user, Chankachankaboo. The page begins with a message at the top of the page that reads: "THANKS FOR YOUR CONCERN. Were you offended by what you just saw? Please scroll SLOWLY to the bottom of this page and we will be happy to rectify your situation. =)". Below this message is a string of images in order: a picture of the "Limecat" meme, a baby rabbit, a chick, a dog, and finally, a deer and a rabbit. Under the final "normal" image is a large montage of gruesome images.
• Reporting Un-Islamic Content - The article begins with a montage of normal Islamic-Related images. Scrolling down further reveals a collage of images containing graphic content and pornography.
